Across the school year, nursery partners with the school to enjoy and take part in different events.
We have:
Weekly learning sessions with the P6 class
Opportunities to use the MUGA (secure outdoor pitch)
Access to the school gym halls during holidays
Our policy and practice is regularly monitored and reviewed by school management.
In addition:
We are registered with, and inspected regularly by, the Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland
Staff are employed and work according to codes of practice issued by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
The latest inspection report is always:
Available online via Care Inspectorate
Available on request from the nursery
You can ask nursery what improvements they are developing across the setting this year, and why.
This is called our Improvement Plan.
We:
Self-evaluate using guidance such as Realising the Ambition
May ask for parent/carer input throughout the year
You can also access the latest inspection reports via:
Education Scotland
Care Inspectorate
Going into Primary 1 is another big event in your childβs life and we aim to make this a smooth transition.
Later in the year, children will:
Take part in a planned transition programme
Visit the P1 classroom
Meet their teacher
Spend time with current P1 pupils
Meet their P6/7 buddy
Experience snack in the playground
Attend lunch with the rest of the school
Please note:
Attending the nursery does not automatically guarantee a place in the school if you live outwith the catchment area.
