In P7, as part of our Outdoor Learning Programme, our P7 year-group will be going to Abernethy on a residential Adventure Trip.
The pupils who attended the P6 ski trip will be familiar with the excellent accommodation and facilities that Abernethy offer and we have no doubt they will excited to be back there.
In P7, there is less focus on skiing and more on outdoor play and adventure. Abernethy offer an excellent summer programme with a raft of activities for our children to experience, learning new skills with a sense of camaraderie, teamwork and memories to last a lifetime.
This year, we will leave school on Monday 26th April and return on Friday 30th April 2027.
Abernethy offer a wide range of on- and off-site activities available to our school group. A final programme will be prepared in advance of your trip, in consultation with school staff. Below are the some of the most popular. However, please note not all available all year round, and they are subject to instructor availability and other groups onsite.
All activities are weather dependent and subject to change or cancellation. Often you will be out in the varied Scottish weather and may experience getting a bit cold and wet!
Abernethy have taken all reasonable steps to provide a level of care and assurances of safety appropriate to the nature of the activities they offer, however you should be aware that certain inherent risks remain which are integral to adventurous activities and cannot be eliminated without destroying their unique character.
Once the programme for Kellands trip has been finalised, this will be shared with our pupils and parents/carers.
A full kit-list will be shared with parents in a timely fashion ahead of the trip so you can be best prepared.
A letter will be sent out from the school office with account details and how to pay. Please check your inbox.
The total cost for the trip is £500 and we are looking to operate a payment plan to spread the cost. See below:
Please note, these are suggested payment dates, and you can pay on another suitable date e.g., your pay day or you can pay in full if you prefer. If you wish to pay in full, please let the office know when you will be doing so. The total cost includes accommodation, meals, private coach travel, equipment, and £10 pocket money.
We must however advise that if payment has not been made in full by 31st March 2027, then your child will not be allowed to go on the trip. Please note that due to the terms and conditions of our booking with Abernethy, no individual refunds can be given for any reason.
Please don’t hesitate to come and talk to us at school if you need any help with this.
Bed linen is provided, but towels and toiletries are not.
Children do not need to bring cash with them, there is an amount (£10) built into the cost for the trip.
In line with our mobile phone policy, there is no mobile phones allowed on the trip.
We cater for specific dietary requirements / food allergies.
Instructors are fully qualified and PVG checked.
If you have any questions about anything at all regarding the trip, please don't hesitate to get in touch. No question is too big, or too small, or too silly. We will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.
