🎒 What to Bring

Your child will have their very own peg where they can hang their bag, coats and belongings on arrival to nursery. Some parents prefer to leave some belongings at nursery which you are more than welcome to do. A short list of

What you should provide for your child can be found below:

• a bag containing spare changes of clothes

• outdoor play clothing (wellies, waterproof, hat/sunhat & gloves)

• an unopened bottle of sun cream, clearly labelled with your child's name on their first day

• any nappies or changing supplies your child may need

• a spare pair of shoes

• a warm coat

• a comforter for sleep, if required.

We ask that you do not allow your child to bring any toys, jewellery or cuddly toys to nursery as these can become lost, damaged and cause lots of upset as a result.

We also ask that you do not provide a water bottle for your child as water stations are available throughout the session.

👉 Please label all belongings and ensure your child knows what they look like.

👕 Uniform

Families can purchase Kellands Nursery T-shirts and sweatshirts as part of the school
and nursery uniform through our online shop , here is the link -

This is not a compulsory uniform but we do recommend this as it will help keep nursery clothes separate from ‘good’ clothes. 

💊 Medication

If your child has medication they will require during their time at nursery we will ask you to fill out a form giving permission and directions for administering this. If your child requires medication on a regular basis or for emergency purpose these must be stored on site in nursery, so please ask your doctor for multiples for this reason. 

All medications should arrive in their original packaging with the information leaflet provided and prescription label on, if appropriate.

If your child has required their medication during the session, you will be asked to sign a form to acknowledge that we have given your child the stated dose and at what time. 

Please note: if your child has been prescribed a new medicine, they MUST stay at home for 24 hours after starting the doses in case of any allergic reaction.  They can return to nursery as normal after this.

If your child only needs one or two doses of medications and the times do not have impact on when they receive it, please consider only administering these at home.

🚸 Prams & Buggies

We aim to provide a calm, safe environment for all users.

Space is limited in our Nursery Reception and we must consider all aspects of Health and Safety in order to comply with regulations.

To this end, we ask that the Nursery Reception space is kept free from buggies unless your child depends on them for walks/trips out in the community. Please leave buggies outside where possible.
